Meet the team
Jason Swords
In 2005, Jason began his career in real estate, starting in the mortgage business and working as a broker for two years, followed by the purchase of his first commercial property. Having little knowledge of the historic tax credit program at the time, this first historic redevelopment project proved to be a true education. However, during the process, Jason developed a strong passion for the work and sense of pride that comes with the preservation of an historic structure. Since forming Sunflower Development Group, LLC in 2007, Jason and his partners have participated in the rehabilitation of nineteen historic structures and built more than 500,000 square feet of ground-up real estate. Since 2015, SDG has taken on over $600 million in development projects across the Midwest, including affordable housing, market-rate apartments and hotels. In addition, Sunflower has become a regional name in real estate and tax credit consulting.
Mark Moberly
Mark joined Sunflower Development Group in November 2011, focusing on the firm’s lending relationships, historic and affordable tax credit syndications, and internal project budgeting. Today, he is intimately involved in all areas of business development and project management. Mark leads efforts for project acquisition, financing, design, construction, and leasing aspects for SDG projects. He has managed over $350 million worth of development that include market-rate apartments, low-income housing tax credit apartments, hotels, commercial, and mixed-used projects.
Banks Floodman
Banks Floodman joined Sunflower Development Group in 2016 with a focus on equity and debt placement, research, discovery, underwriting and implementation for project development. In his time with Sunflower, Banks has been involved in market-rate apartments, hotels, commercial and retail projects valued at more than $275 million. Prior to joining Sunflower, Banks was the Senior Associate Athletic Director at the University of Kansas. During this time, he led the fundraising efforts of a team that raised over $300 million dollars for the University and its athletic related capital projects.
